Borough of Cresskill
Cresskill is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States.As of the United States 2000 Census, the borough population was7,746.Cresskill was formed on May 8, 1894 from portions of PalisadesTownship at the height of the "Boroughitis" phenomenon. Cresskill wasthe home of Camp Merritt, the major debarkation point for Americantroops being sent abroad to fight in World War I. A large obeliskmemorial, set in the middle of a traffic circle at the intersection ofMadison Avenue and Knickerbocker Road commemorates the fact.
