On September 21, 2009, the rules governing real estate licensees in New Jersey readopted with amendments by the New Jersey Real Estate Commission (REC) became effective. Under the new rules, licensing fees for broker of record, sole proprietor broker and broker-salesperson are decreased from $285 to $270. The fee for a salesperson's license is decreased from $175 to $160. In addition, the fee for a criminal history check and fingerprint scan will be determined and paid directly to a State-contracted vendor under the readopted rules.
